Extensive research into the popularity profile of the Robin Hood legend reveals that there is a hugely significant worldwide interest in the iconic outlaw and his associated principles, resulting in the frequent appearance of Robin Hood related stories in the global media on an almost daily/weekly basis. Such coverage often gives Nottingham and Nottinghamshire a "free" publicity plug through its associated links to the legend, which can have the potential to help increase general awareness for both City and County, dependent on the specific nature of the media story.
